TeamSpirit is a seperate organization within SADD.  This group of 10 students went to a leadership conference last summer.  They also go to reunions every year.

At the conference each team made an Action Plan to make their school safe.  Fair Grove's plan was to have a party for fifth graders.  The party was held on March 8, 2001.  These are pictures from the party.

At the Fifth Grade Party kids stop for a quick snack between games.
At the Leadership Training Conference students built an inflatable whale from plastic and lots of tape.  They were given minimal instructions and supplies.  They had to work as a team.  Some people did the math, others did the construction, while others worked on helping wherever they could.
Here are some brave fifth graders.  They entered the whale through his "mouth" and are now standing in his "stomach".
One game played at the party was called "The Human Conveyor Belt".  Students laid down on the floor lying in opposite directions.  One student at a time was lowered onto the waiting hands and was pushed along.  They put their full faith in their peers.

On April 2 & 3, 2001, members went to Jefferson City for a TeamSpirit Reunion.  At the Reunion students saw friends from the summer, made new friends, heard speakers, and spoke to Senators and Representatives about passing a bill to lower the legal blood alcohol content to .08.

Members of TeamSpirit stand on capitol steps with president of MADD.  Fair Grove students Cheyenne, Dustin, Jason, and Matt and advisor Mr. Foster hold signs proudly.
The theme of the 2001 TeamSpirit Reunion was Survivor.  Fair Grove students take time out to have their picture taken.  Row 1: Jason, Cheyenne, Jessica
